Anna Guðmundsdóttir

Textile Designer

Anna graduated from the Iceland Academy of the Arts in  2002 (BA) and has since exhibited her designs and fashion in dozens of group exhibitions and art /design events in Iceland and abroad, most notably the Nordic Cool, Hot women Designers exhibition at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, and the exhibition Þverskurður at Gerðarsafn, Kópavogur Art Museum.

1999 - 2002

B.A. Iceland Academy of the Arts, Reykjavik

The studies focus on creative approaches and experiments in textiles, emphasizing connecting traditional and innovative methods to fabrics. Students experimented with various materials both by hand and with tools. They were encouraged to stretch the boundaries of conventional textile processing by making many sketches and experiments before developing any of them into a conclusion.
